The Dolly For Sue Project

The story is a modern day “real life” adaptation of the classic story Annie and is a continued work in progress.  The intention of the finished product will have all original scores in place of the covers used in this production. For the First time in Luckty Nickel Theatre history most music will be played by a live “Kids Rock  Band” which is part of LNT’s Rock Band Camp. The story of  Dolly For Sue follows a young girl named Andi a teen in today’s system living in a group home as well as glimpses into the lives of other kids she lives with Andi has been placed in Foster Care along with her little sister Gabi because their mother for  for undisclosed reasons just couldn’t take care of them. They have been in the foster care system for 22 months the maximum length of time a child can stay in the system until the state steps in until one day a self made entrepeneur Joel Richmond, along with his half sister Hope Swan decide they want to foster an older child. We soon learn that their reasons for wanting to foster an older child is that they too were children in the system. Hope was adopted by Joel aged out of the system taking his best friend with him. In the original script this character is Ben but for this project we have Sam who is female. Eventually this High profile case draws the attention of a long lost  family member who decides to foster Andi without her sister.Things become bleak again for Andi, and she uncovers the real reason for her aunt’s “stepping in”which compels her to go to Joel for help.Andi will be  faced with the fact  that her story may not have a “happy ending”.
